Board of Directors

The Board of Directors determines the Institut’s strategy in terms of its activity, organisation and operations.

In addition to the Chairman, the Board of Directors comprises :

Seven ex officio members:

  • The General Delegate for Transmission, Territories and Cultural Democracy at the Ministry of Culture or their representative;
  • The Director General of Heritage and Architecture or their representative;
  • The Director General of Artistic Creation or their representative;
  • The President of the Centre National de la Fonction Publique Territoriale [National Centre for Local Authority Civil Servants] or their representative;
  • The Head of the Interministerial Department of the Archives de France or their representative;
  • The Head of the Museums of France Service or their representative;
  • The Head of the Heritage Department or their representative;
  • Six French or foreign personalities appointed by the Minister of Culture, including a specialist in heritage restoration, a graduate of the Institut de Formation des Restaurateurs d'Œuvres d'Art or the Institut National du Patrimoine;

Six elected members:

  • A representative of the Heritage Curators and General Heritage Curator [Conservateur Général du Patrimoine];
  • A representative of trainee curators and student local heritage curators;
  • A representative of student conservators-restorers;
  • Three representatives of the institution's permanent staff and teaching staff, including one teacher from each department.
  • Two former students of the Institut National du Patrimoine appointed by the Minister for Culture;
  • A former student heritage curator nominated by the alumni association of student heritage curators;
  • A former student conservator-restorer nominated by the alumni association of student conservators-restorers.
